HIDDEN TEMPLE :
Experience the enchanting beauty of Lanna art surrounded by nature at Wat Luang Khun Win, a hidden gem in Chiang Mai Province. Nestled in the lush forest of Don Pao Subdistrict, Mae Wang District, this 700-year-old temple showcases traditional Lanna wooden architecture, large Buddha statues, and a pagoda housing the hair relics of Lord Buddha.
Marvel at the intricate carvings, including the world’s largest wooden Buddha image carved from a wild champee tree, and the Reclining Buddha in nirvana posture. Don’t miss the beautifully crafted Serpent Stairs.
Due to its remote location, the temple relies on solar energy and running water is limited. The journey to reach it is steep, narrow, and sometimes slippery, making the adventure challenging yet rewarding.
After exploring the temple, descend along a scenic forest trail that passes the stunning Khun Win Waterfall, offering a refreshing and memorable conclusion to the trek. Hidden within the forest, Wat Luang Khun Win and the waterfall provide a serene atmosphere, perfect for travelers seeking peace, nature, and a deep connection with Lanna culture.
